Why are there three corporations in this association?
During construction, our builder New Urban West set up three corporations; Surfcrest Corporation as the master association, Surfcrest One for the first 68 homes built and Surfcrest Two for the remaining 47 homes. It is a legal separation only, we consider ourselves one community.

Have the three associations considered merging into one corporation?
Yes, on two separate occasions, the BODs have investigated merging. The merger committee contacted attorneys and the steps to merger were identified and discussed. Before the HOs get a vote, all three BODs must agree to proceed. The three BODs have not agreed on this matter to date.

How many models are in this community?
Surfcrest is comprised of 115 homes in four different models. Click here for the original sales brochure that includes each floor plan.

How do I file a maintenance request?

I lost my pool key. How do I get a new one?
Any homeowner can receive a replacement pool key by submitting a $250 refundable deposit. The deposit is returned to the homeowner when the key is returned or when the property is sold. If the key is not returned at the time of sale, the deposit is forfeited. Please fill out the New Pool Key Replacement Form and submit a $250 refundable deposit made payable to Surfcrest Corporation plus a $10 check made payable to Golden West Property Management to cover the costs of certified mail and shipping fees. What do I do about a neighbor's barking dog?
For excess dog barking, the BOD recommends talking to your neighbor. If a resolution can not be reached, then please contact the non-emergency line of the Huntington Beach police at 714-960-8811 or SPCA at:

What can I do about my neighbor's loud parties?
We hope everyone in our community respects each other enough to tolerate the occasional party, however, if the issue continues the BOD recommends talking to your neighbor. If a resolution can not be reached, then contact the non-emergency line of the Huntington Beach police at (714) 960-8811

Can I install a satellite dish?
Yes, all satellite dishes must receive prior approval. Each homeowner must submit an Architectural Review Application prior to the installation. Please provide your installer the community instructions outlined in the Satellite Dish Installation Guidelines.

I want to install retrofit windows. Do I need special approval?
Windows and doors are a homeowner responsibility. All exterior improvements or changes must be pre-approved by the Architectural Committee. Please complete the Architectural Review Application and forwarding it to Golden West Property Management at kim@gwpm.com.

Can I use the pool area for my child's birthday party?
Yes. Pool parties must be pre-approved. The process starts with completing the Pool Party Request Form and forwarding it to Golden West Property Management at kim@gwpm.com.

Can I have a garage sale?
No, as a private gated community, we do not allow garage sales.

Where do I report a light out on the Common Area?

When is our regular trash pick up day?
Our regular trash day is Monday. For their holiday schedule please refer to the Rainbow Disposal website at www.rainbowdisposal.com.

How do I get ride of an old mattress?
Please refer to the Rainbow Disposal website at www.rainbowdisposal.com for this information.

Does my dog have to be on a leash?
Yes, in accordance to the City of Huntington Beach and the CC&R's, dogs must be on leash at all times.

My unit is in escrow. How do I get copies of corporation documents?

Is it legal for my neighbors to be running a business out of their residence?
Surfcrest is zoned as a residential property therefore running a business out of one's home is not legal.

Do I need to register my guests who will be here for two months?
If your guest intends to park a car in the guest spaces, please make sure they use one of your permanent visitor parking passes. Also, as a courtesy to your neighbors, please make sure your garage has the maximum cars parked in it.

I am planning to rent my town home. Do I need to notify the property manager and/or the association?
